Highlights of their green business practices include excellent resource recovery and sustainable office purchasing. Minimal use of paper – with only 8 reams of Forest Stewardship Council certified copy paper purchased annually. To reduce plastic waste, recycling bin liners are eliminated. To reduce their carbon footprint and take ‘climate action’, Starline replaced 56 fluorescent 4 ft tubes with LEDs via Edison’s Direct Install program – resulting in an estimated annual savings of $165 in energy costs. Starline Tours office in Santa Monica uses Simple Green all-purpose cleaner, approved by The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Safer Choice label for facility wide cleaning. 50% of their staff commutes by bike or Metro.
