Uplifters Kitchen is a women owned, community focused café serving health conscious vegetarian food that’s good for people and the world. Their menu includes ample gluten-free and vegan options made from scratch using locally sourced organic ingredients such as eggs, dairy, potatoes from Weiser Family Farms, and tortillas from the Tehachapi Grain Project. Imperfect Foods provides most of the organic produce for their baked goods. Many Uplifters desserts use organic coconut sugar as a healthier alternative. Uplifters also offers vegetarian catering for Santa Monica businesses and social events.
Uplifters Kitchen’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability extends to their food catering for Zero Waste events, where they provide reusable dishes and glassware upon request. Guests that dine in also create zero waste by using reusable glasses, dishes and silverware. Uplifters worked closely with the City’s R3 division and Program coordinator, Sustainable Works, to coordinate their Organics collection pick up to comply with State law AB 1826 "Mandatory Commercial Organics Recycling," requiring California businesses to collect and recycle their landscape cuttings and food waste. To further their zero waste efforts, Uplifters uses a laundry service that provides reusable bags for dirty and clean linen. Certified B Corp company Ecologic Solutions’ supplies their non-toxic Green Seal certified cleaning and sanitizing agents.
For every salted chocolate pecan cookie purchase, Uplifters Kitchen donates $1 to Feast, which supports nutrition education and fresh produce and grocery delivery to families in LA.
You can also find Uplifters Kitchen on the WeTap app map as a registered location where anyone can pop in to refill containers with locally sourced Santa Monica water, regardless of making a purchase.
